The FDA has recently passed new guidelines with respect to the use of Zocor (Simvastatin) due to an increased incidence of muscle inflammation. Doses of 80 mg are no longer recommended, and due to potential interactions with other medications, lower doses may need to be adjusted. If you are on Zocor, Simcor, Vytorin, or generic Simvastatin, call or make an appointment to discuss options.
